It means that we do not accept the particpation of fascists, chuds, and apolitical artists. We want to platform those who are in active opposition to fascism and the ongoing worldwide dismantling of human rights. This is even more important to me this year than it was last year as things continue to slide backwards, especially in the United States.
Dependent on the number of submssions. 1-3 nights, likely just one or two.
No. The show is entirely free to watch, neither I nor the performs are receiving any benefit from this. It's simply done for the love of the music and the community. In the future I hope to setup a charity drive, if we're able to get that kind of traction.
A video of you performing your own music. You can do this however you'd like: all in one take, cuts between songs, etc, whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you would like to participate, but do not want to be on camera, you can record audio and put it over footage you own or over content within the public domain. Your video should be at least 10-15 minutes long, however, it can go longer.
For last years show, I scrounged together old retro animations from youtube and elsewhere to create interludes between sets that I then set to guest music of my choice. These animations included subjects such as landscapes, castles, dungeons, ancient cities, space, water, etc. Anything that elicits a retro feeling and that would generally fit well within the aesthetic (no future/sci-fi stuff). If you'd like an example, see last years video and click on the timestamps to see the preceeding interludes.
